Resistance is Futile

....you will be bathed.

Tonight, Brianna had a little 3yr old fit as we tried to get her ready for her bath and bed. After a evening of play at home with her brother and parents, it was clean up time. She had dutifully cleaned up the toys from the great room, but after that was done, she was starting to get more toys (play clothes) out of her dress-up suitcase.

She wasn't complying with the requests to put the princess clothes away, so after the 2nd or 3rd warning, I had to pry the clothes out of her hand which started the beginning of the tantrum....

I then quoted ST:TNG and said.... "Resistance is Futile,..... you will be bathed." in my best Borg voice. This increased the tantrum one more level. I picked her up & laid her down on the couch away from the toys where she continued to sob and Julie came out to see what was wrong with getting ready for her bath.

Julie offered to take her up to the bath in an effort to comfort her, but she still lay sobbing on the couch .......she then blurted out to her mommy: "....it doesn't madder, daddy said 'wesistance is futile'...... " It was classic.
